Job Scope: 

  • Oversee and carry out preventive maintenance schedules for equipment, ensuring timely repairs to support continuous food production operations.
  • Adhere to sanitary maintenance procedures in line with food safety standards to ensure safe and efficient equipment operation.

Troubleshooting:

  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for mechanical and electrical breakdowns during production, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining product quality.
  • Proficient in reading electrical diagrams and troubleshooting electrical systems to identify faults and implement solutions effectively.
  • Able to interpret PLC programs, diagnose issues related to automated systems, and make adjustments to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Project Support:
    Assist in projects related to the installation, upgrading, or modification of food production equipment, ensuring compliance with food safety guidelines and supporting timely execution.

Compliance & Safety:

  • Ensure M&E systems comply with GMP, HACCP, and ISO 22000:2018 regulations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment to uphold food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections to ensure compliance with audit requirements and industry regulations.

Energy Efficiency & Cost Control:

  • Monitor and optimize energy consumption to reduce operational costs, ensuring compliance with food production standards and energy efficiency goals.

Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with the production, quality assurance, and safety teams to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operations, adhering to food safety and production standards.

Entry Requirements: Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

Job-Related Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in M&E roles, ideally in the food manufacturing industry or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Strong experience in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment upgrades in food production or packaging.
     

Required Skills (Must-Have):

  • Solid technical expertise in mechanical and electrical systems used in food manufacturing processes (e.g., conveyors, mixers, packaging machines).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams to troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues in production equipment.
  • Proficient in PLC programming or understanding PLC systems used in food manufacturing and automation.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations such as GMP, HACCP, and ISO 22000:2018.
  • Proven ability to quickly diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues to minimize production downtime.
  • Experience in designing and implementing preventive maintenance programs aligned with food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Certifications in electrical safety, energy management, or other relevant qualifications.
     

Desired Skills (Good to Have):

  • Familiarity with automation, SCADA systems, and advanced PLC troubleshooting in food processing environments.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, and compressed air systems, particularly in the context of food manufacturing.
